About Dalyan
Dalyan is a lagoon which connects Koycegiz Lake which has a very old historical and cultural richness in the middle of a delta which protects the natural beauty of the Mediterranean region of Turkey to Mediterranean. Dalyan canal is a natural wonder; it drew folds because of the existing geographical conditions and formed lakes. A lot of wild animal species live in Dalyan which is a distinguished place for the bird observers.
Iztuzu beach is the name which is given to the beach which extends in parallel to Mediterranean and with the approximate length of 5 km in the end of Dalyan canal which conveys Koycegiz Lake to Mediterranean. It is one of the most natural beaches of the world with its thin grain sand and turquoise color sea. It is the most important place of reproduction for the Caretta caretta turtles which are about to extinct in the world. Caretta caretta, Chelenia Mydas and Tronix Triongis types of turtles have been living and reproducing in this natural environment for million of years. Caretta caretta and other types of turtles that have the period of ovulation and reproduction between the dates 01st May-01st October spend this period in Iztuzu beach.
Kaunos rock tombs which stand with its all magnificence for thousands of years take part in the right slopes in the west of Dalyan. After visiting Kaunos rock tombs and taking a lot of photographs there, you can rest by means of having a mud bath in Sultaniye Thermal springs and you can feel as light as a feather. Sultaniye thermal springs, which contain lots of mineral, have a positive influence on the hearth and blood circulation, body and nervous tiredness, gastrointestinal and kidney and urethra, liver and gall bladder diseases. In addition to this, you can participate in the boat tours which are organized every day and discover the beauty of Mediterranean.
